Hard Disk Sentinel & Window 11 Folder Explorer Freezes
I have a Acasis 5 bay enclosure, once I switch on it with Hard Disk Sentinel on on start up, the software and window 11 file explorer freezes and crash and cant explore any of my hard drives but when it shut down the Hard Disk Sentinel, I can explore my hard drives normally with no freeze. Anyone know why and how to solve the issue? Thanks

Re: Hard Disk Sentinel & Window 11 Folder Explorer Freezes
The Acasis 5 bay enclosure you have probably has JMicron chipset and while Hard Disk Sentinel supports the detection of disk status with these JMicron chipsets, the problem is that according the experiences such Acasis enclosures have older firmware versions of this JMicron chipset, so it may not "like" the status detection used.
Not sure which Hard Disk Sentinel version installed. If you have older version, I suggest to first check version 6.30 just released recently, as newer versions generally has changes / updates, so there is good chance that things will be better immediately.
If you see similar with the latest 6.30 version too, then I suggest to try the following:
1) please completely close Hard Disk Sentinel by File -> Exit
2) connect the Acasis enclosure and make sure that it is working correctly (so you can read/write files etc.)
3) Please open an elevated command prompt: click on the Windows search field, type CMD.EXE and on the result, right click and select "Run as administrator".
4) Then navigate to the folder of the software, eg. if the program installed in the default folder, then enter
CD "C:\Program Files (x86)\Hard Disk Sentinel"
and then enter
HDSentinel.exe /ENABLETEST /REPORT
This should create a
testmode.txt
HDSentinel_6.30_report.txt
into the folder of Hard Disk Sentinel.
The above is 100% safe of course, it just logs all detection steps between the drives and the software, so it may point on the problem.
Please send the resulting files (maybe compressed by RAR/ZIP/7Z) to info (at) hdsentinel (dot) com address as then it is possible to check, investigate specifically what can be the problem - and how to improve the situation / compatibility (or the detection if the firmware in your Acasis device may make it possible).
Looking forward to check - and personally I hope ACASIS will offer firmware upgrade which makes things better, so then their enclosures can be supported in Hard Disk Sentinel properly, similarly as the 2-4-5 bay RAID enclosures of many other manufacturers. Personally contacted ACASIS many times about it, but received no response yet, so maybe you can contact the manufacturer too about the situation.

Previously I have version 6.20 and now just upgraded to the latest but the issue still persist. As followed I have create the files as shown in the attachment.
Unfortunately, I cant find any info on software updates on the Acasis 5 bay enclosure. Hope the logs can help to fix the problem. Thank you.

Thanks, but I found no report file.
Please send the report file too to info (at) hdsentinel (dot) com address (please DO NOT attach here any files).

Sorry for that, not really sure why gmail flags the report as virus - as the report (of course) can't contain any virus...
Would be nice if we can submit for false alarm but there is no such option at gmail.
Please try to compress with RAR/ZIP/7Z and send that way by e-mail. Thanks!
