Secure Erase an SSD?
Secure Erase an SSD?
In response to an issue I'm having with a Corsair F120GB2 SSD http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=109484, the fold at Corsair has asked me to do a Secure Erase and suggested using Parted Magic - is this something that HDS can do? (If my understanding is correct you can not do this from Windows, but need to boot into another OS to access this command).

Re: Secure Erase an SSD?
I suspect they mentioned the use of "Secure Erase" ATA command.
Yes, this is not possible under Windows, so I'm afraid it is not possible to use HDS for this purpose.

I have limited experience but have extensively investigated for my own use of an OCZ make of SSD.
SUPPLEMENTARY :-
I believe that there are several different tools available from OCZ for a "Secure Erase" ATA command,
but only one tool will suit each specific SSD firmware.

I am currently working on my SSD and I can say that this works best.
