P. S. This is not the same device about which I wrote in the Linux forum. However, it is from the same manufacturer and it uses the same ASM1352R chip.

Generally ASM1352R is supported for many years - but there can be a custom firmware which may work slightly differently than expected.

Not sure, but is it possible that you use an older version? The support is constantly added/improved in newer updates.

I recommend to check with the latest possible version, which is now 6.20.6
and use Report menu -> Send test report to developer option in all cases: it would show if things are correct with it - but if not, it helps to make an update specifically for this device.

I never used HDSentinel for Windows until yesterday, so I downloaded the current Trial version from your web site. Just checked: the version is 6.20 (13190).

The report has just been sent.

P. S. There is a 10-year old tool called "asmedia RAID Manager" v. 3.1.3.0. Under Windows 10, it does not detect the device at all, although its manual says it should detect ASM1352R, ASM1061, ASM1062R, ASM109R.

as such versions always have some changes for RAID boxes / RAID configurations / special devices, so there is good chance that things are immediately better.

Please use Report menu -> Send test report to developer option in all cases (even/especially if the situation is the same) it may help further checking/development.

Yes, what you write is "normal". Manufacturers constantly adjust the firmware of newer devices and this can cause that the detection is "harder" or not automatically possible - even if generally a RAID chipset should be working, supported.
