I've got an SSD that's occasionally not being recognized so I can't turn computer on.
I'm trying to clone/image the c drive but I keep getting this error 23 issue. Led me to hard disk sentinel to try and repair the errors so I can clone the HD. The health is 86%.
I'm using the pro version and run the surface/disk repairs. It finds 328 sectors to repair and it says 0 failed. However, once I close the surface scan the health of the drive is the same. I try to clone the drive again and I still get the errors. I rerun the surface/disk repair, and it does the same thing - still supposedly repairing 328 sectors.
Not sure why it's saying it's repairing these sectors but they are still there when I run it again? Any help please ?- I'm new to this. Thank you --

Re: Disk repairs done but same errors next time
I suggest to please use Report menu -> Send test report to developer option in Hard Disk Sentinel as then it is possible to check the actual status of the SSD, possible error(s) and advise.
I'm afraid when you encounter such problem, it is usually too late to attempt any cloning. This is a big mistake: we need to clone ONLY a working, perfect system. Attempting to clone any damaged drive will surely not work: usually cloning can't be completed due to errors - or "just" the cloned copy may produce errors.
Yes, generally the Disk Repair function of Hard Disk Sentinel designed exactly to repair such sectors. This is possible by various situations - but depending on the actual situation / status (and SSD) the sectors seem repaired - but can be damaged quickly again.
Ideally if you'd have Hard Disk Sentinel installed previously, then you could see the problems, degradations even sooner and could perform repairing with higher chances: if there are 100's of problems, usually the repairing may be not always possible.
The 86% Health sounds a bit too high for this situation, but this depends on the actual SSD, firmware and the situation, so the Report menu -> Send test report to developer option would help to check what we can done to improve the situation in all possible ways.
