This is the second time that a PC (Windows 7 Enterprise x64+ HDS 4.40) loss the registration.
The first time i repeat the online registration and later run all fine !

Which documentation is useful to undestand a bit more ?

Thanks very much !
Luciano

Hi Luciano,

Generally the registration is stored in the Windows registry and in a special activated keyfile.
If the registration is lost, it means that something may delete / modify one of these saved information.

If you use Report menu -> Send test report to developer option (before repeat the online registration and activation) it is possible to check which setting is cleared somehow, and may give further thoughts.

Do you use some kind of system cleaner / tweaker / optimizer software? These may cause that registry settings cleared - and this may result that you'd need to activate the software again.
Or if you may used system restore - which restores the computer to an earlier state.

Hi, Janos,
Thanks for your answer but a bit later ...now i have already again registred the client :D
BUT:
i have (see file I sent):
a) the key reg before new registration
b) the key reg after registration
c) the report before registration

If can be userful, i have the complete HDSentinel before registration.

P.S.
1. No system restore
2. yes i use CCleaner as on the others Clients

Thanks for the support !

Thanks for the file and information !

I checked the "keyreg after" and "keyreg before" files - and they look 100% same.
Are these the complete export of [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\HD Sentinel] keys?
(I mean there are no other entries)?
I just ask because the files are very short, seems like on fresh, clean install - so it seems something cleared all keys and values under

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\HD Sentinel]

and if this happened, it is not surprising that the registration is also lost.

You may use Configuration -> Advanced options -> Change folder to store statistics and settings and specify a folder (which should be not same as Hard Disk Sentinel folder, but maybe a sub-folder, for example: D:\Programmi\Hard Disk Sentinel\Data ) and then the registry will be no longer used.

Hi,
These are the last steps:
1) unistall HDS V4.40
2) delete the complete HDS folder
3) delete the key reg:[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\HD Sentinel]
4) instal HDS v4.50 ;) with a new online registration
And now the key reg :[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\HD Sentinel] have the ...classic format :D

I hope....
Thanks for the support !

Thanks, yes, I hope there should be no further problems :)
Ps. version 4.50 has some extra protection against such situation, I keep fingers crossed !!! ;)
