Tray Icon won't stay hidden

Running 2.90 on Vista X64, I can't get the main tray icon to stay hidden. I set it to "Hide" in the Notification Area customization, eventually it appears anyway, and its setting is once again "Hide when inactive", which of course it never is.
It's not a big deal, just mildly annoying. Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Thanks - but it is not really a bug.
The software designed to always display at least one icon on the tray icon, to notify the user and allow him to open the main information window, the configuration panel and so. That's why it is not really possible to completely hide all icons under Vista and earlier operating systems. This may be changed in a later version of Hard Disk Sentinel.
Now only Windows 7 can configure the tray icons to be completely hidden, regardless of the setting of the software.

Well, by "Hidden" I mean the default behavior of all tray icons to optionally keep them out of sight behind the "Show hidden icons" button that is available on the Tray.
In XP you go to the "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" and choose to "Hide inactive icons", which you can customize for each application.
In Vista you go to the "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties", select the "Notification Area" tab, and choose to "Hide inactive icons", which you can customize for each application.
If I choose the option "Hide" for the HD Sentinel icon, it eventually always changes back to "Hide when inactive". I suspect it's in the way the icon or its status is updated or changed by your app, Windows is seeing it as a new icon. That's just my theory.
Regardless, I am not asking for the tray icon to not exist, just that it follow expected Windows behavior.

Yes I see.
I suspect the "inactive" (if we speak about tray icons) means that icon which is not updated and no tray icon notifications are displayed over it.
But Hard Disk Sentinel needs to constantly update the tray icon to reflect the temperature of the hard disk - that's why Windows may not think it is inactive and show it.

I would expect that if I chose "Hide when inactive"
But if I choose "Hide", I would expect it to stay hidden. Except that somehow its setting always reverts to "Hide when inactive".

I see.
As you feel, the icon(s) are sometimes really updated as removing all previously displayed icons and displaying new ones. For example if you add/remove a removable drive, Hard Disk Sentinel really removes all icons and re-displays the new ones to reflect the status and to keep the icons together to prevent confusion.
Also if you select the "display only highest temperature on tray" option (Configuration -> Hard Disk Drives) the above is possible when a different drive will be the hottest.
In such situations the icons are removed and re-created and this may be the problem for Windows.
I'll check if it is possible to change this behavior or let Windows to always Hide the tray icon(s) for Hard Disk Sentinel.
