Maybe the version of HD Sentinel, which I use is old - v.2.50 or this is a hard drive issue. The hard drive is brand new 
PS: With the latest version there is no problem. Now I can view the status ot the hard disk

I have a 1 TB external hard drive, and cannot see the status ot the drive Maybe the version of HD Sentinel, which I use is old - v.2.50 or this is a hard drive issue. The hard drive is brand new

I constantly examine new hard disk controllers, drives and hardware in general so new versions usually can detect more and more information and support more devices.
For example, as you can see on http://www.hdsentinel.com/compat.php , devices may not be supported from the first version, so I list the first version with support of the appropriate devices.
