Health 84%, spin up problems, serious?

Problems occured during the spin up for the disk 6 times. This can be caused by the disk itself or huge power load (weak power supply).

I got this message on a disk I tested. Is it something to worry about?

It's a samsung disk, I ran smart test and short drive test with seatools, and both came back ok.

This disk has a power on time of about 270 days.

All tests will pass without problems - because the tests usually check the disk surface and read/write capabilities.

Spin up problems may indicate that the hard disk can hardly spin up, has problems during startup. When it is spinning, it works without problems, without delays or so - but it is possible that one day it will not be able to spin up at all, causing complete data loss.

Some such problems are not too serious (this is why the health is still high) and as Hard Disk Sentinel displays, the issue may be related to the power source of the drive. So it is recommended to verify if it can get enough power to spin up and operate properly.

For example, if it's an 2.5" USB hard disk, it is recommended to use dual Y USB cable to provide enough power for the drive.
Please check Support -> Knowledge base -> Hard disk cases -> Hard disk case: spin retry page for more information

If it's an internal hard disk, verify data and power cables. Try to avoid 4 pin -> SATA power adapters, power splitters as they also cause such issue.
Also it may be a good idea to disable power management - to minimise spin down / spin up cycles of the hard disk.
