I have a problematic drive, WD2003FYYS, an enterprise 2TB drive; your scan showed lots of bad blocks. This drive also did not show any status info in HD Sentinal, only question marks where the info should be.
I ran your long Drive Surface Test (it took a couple of days) and it then showed 100% good blocks but no status info and no SMART attributes.
I then used Windows Disk Management to delete and create a new volume and format it. Chkdsk says No Problems Found.
But while HD Sentinal shows normal-looking values in the Info tab, it still does not show any status info nor any Smart attributes.
I used DiskPart to clean the drive, installing a new MBR. But no change: still no status info in HD Sentinal: only question marks for health and temp.
Any thoughts?
FYI, I have about six of these drives because they seem to hold up very well for video editing.
Thanks for a great product;
Mike

Re: drive passed the surface test 100% but shows no status info?
Hi Mike,
Please check
www.hdsentinel.com/faq.php#noinfo
"No hard disk temperature/health displayed. What is wrong?"
As described there, it is completely independent from Hard Disk Sentinel and the actual hard disk. It is caused by the disk controller and more precisely its driver. You may open Support -> Driver Zone page which designed exactly for this purpose: to offer working drivers for various controllers.
If you can use Report -> Send test report to developer option, that may help, as then it is possible to check the actual hard disk controller, driver and then recommend a better one.
As you can see, the Disk -> Surface test functions work even in this case. This is completely expected - as these functions work even on drives with no S.M.A.R.T. information and/or if that information is not available, for example if the driver blocks the detection - as now.

Re: drive passed the surface test 100% but shows no status info?
Very helpful reply, and speedy, too. Yes, I have the chipset controller on the Asus P6T Deluxe mb and also an Adaptec 1430 controller, and, you are quite right, I believe, in suggesting those drivers.
It has been a while since I refreshed them.
Thanks again.
Mike

Re: drive passed the surface test 100% but shows no status info?
Thanks!
As you can see on
http://www.hdsentinel.com/compatibility ... ollers.php
there are numerous Adaptec controllers supported - so complete hard disk status detected and reported (even in standalone or RAID mode).
However, these related to 2xxx and newer series controllers.
Adaptec did not add the required functions to 1xxx series of their controllers - so I'm afraid there may be not possible to display further status information if the drives connected to it. " Adaptec AAR-1xxx = Does not provide disk details "
