HDS is a great tool to montior HDD, and I've now used it to identify failing HDD but had to use other progs to copy the data from the failing HDD to a new one. HDS can already read, write, veritfy data on a single HDD but it would be great if it do do this to a new/replacment HDD as well. That way we could use HDS to replace a failing HDD.

Thanks !
Yes, a such duplicate function would be a nice addition, it is already considered and may be available ;)
Thanks for the tip!

Thank you so much. One issue I had with each of the "other tools" I tried is that on one of my HDD when they got to the weak sectors the process would fail. HDS could read the sectors (but it took a long time) but it would have worked. In the end for that drive I had to restore the content from a backup.

Does this tool works for SSD as well?

Yes of course, Hard Disk Sentinel properly identifies all SSDs, their complete status and provides all possible information depending on the model.
