Disk performance in HD Sentinel Pro

All versions after 3.20 cause a problem with disk monitoring and also in Perfmon of Windows 7 64bit.

Following the FAQ, (put 0 in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \ PerfDisk \ Performance) back to work temporarily but after a few minutes, the key value back to 1 and the disk drive monitoring ceases to function.

With the version 3.20 disk monitoring (and perfmon) works flawlessly. But I can not keep this version because it does not properly recognize my SSD (Sandisk extreme)

Any suggestions?
thanks

Thanks for your message and excuse me for the troubles.
The issue is not really a bug, but caused by a new function which allows performance monitoring when a new device (for example external hard disk) is connected. When this happens, Hard Disk Sentinel clears the performance object cache and re-detects the performance objects. On some systems (regardless of hardware configuration) this function causes that Windows disable performance monitoring at all (as you can see, even in PerfMon).

The other topic ( viewtopic.php?f=32&t=1265&start=20&st=0#p2566 ) exactly discusses this situation and the fix: to disable this extended function this way:

1) click "start" (Windows) button and to the search field enter REGEDIT
2) open REGEDIT
3) navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\HD Sentinel
4) create a new STRING key named DisablePerfCacheClear and specify value of 1 for that.

If this is configured, after restart, HDS will not issue this special function to clear performance cache when it detects the change of configuration
so hopefully you'll see that the counters will continue working.

Excuse me again for the issue caused by that the function of Windows does not work as expected.

Me thanks, I'm glad if the situation is better now. Excuse me again for the problem.

I agree that this information may not be easy to find - so I just added to the F.A.Q. page, to the section discussing the real time performance monitoring:
http://www.hdsentinel.com/faq.php#perf

Just let me know if I can help somehow.
