Transition to new financial partner

Currently we are switching the financial partner (Shareit/Mycommerce/Digital River) to a different partner, 2Checkout/Avangate/Verifone.

As a result, you may notice some changes (different links) on the Store page: https://www.hdsentinel.com/store.php and also upon ordering new license will result invoice from 2Checkout instead of Digital River/MyCommerce.

This does not affect any existing, current license codes/versions/software you already have, installed or even need to be (re)installed later in any ways. So no need to make any actions now, I want to ensure that everything will continue to operate without interruptions.

Just if you may planned to
- order new license for your system(s)
- order additional license(s) to cover more systems than your current license(s) grant
- upgrade any of your current license to a different one (for example Hard Disk Sentinel standard to Professional or so)
then please make sure to use the proper order links, for example

https://secure.2checkout.com/order/checkout.php?PRODS=27033659&QTY=1&CART=1&CARD=2&DESIGN_TYPE=2

instead of the previous links ( order.shareit.com or secure.shareit.com )
to make sure that you should receive real license(s) from the new partner. The prices, discounts are not changed in any ways - and the new financial partner may offer better conversion rates too for different currencies.

If you may have any trial/unregistered version of Hard Disk Sentinel installed and consider to have a registered version, please use the https://www.hdsentinel.com/store.php page, as the installed version may still open the old (wrong) link until the update will be available (version 6.20.4 released today has correct link, so maybe install 6.20.4 if you had older unregistered/trial version).

If you work as affiliate, I suggest to contact directly at info (at) hdsentinel (dot) com address to set up with the new financial partner.

I hope the transition is going as smooth as possible - we're working diligently to minimize any inconvenience for you. Anyway if you encounter any issues, have questions, please feel free to send an e-mail to info (at) hdsentinel (dot) com

Background: generally these financial partners work as resellers: they are responsible for the orders, invoices, VAT/tax questions and they deliver the license information during the order transaction. Then, periodically (typically some days after a month closed) they transfer the collected amount to the developer company (like us). So far so good.

However, Shareit/Mycommerce/Digital River company does not transfer any amount since July 2024, so generally (while they are still actively selling licenses) we received no license fees for months. The previous order links may be still active - but we encourage all users to DO NOT use Share-it/Mycommerce/Digital River links to order any further licenses/software (or digital products from any other companies/developers via shareit as all of us affected).

If you are interested, you can read these pages/forums, as there can be 1000's of developers in similar situation too, the total loss of the industry is not yet predictable:

Can't believe they are not paying. Wish you luck in this situation.

To be honest, I never liked any of these "resellers". I understand they may be convenient for developers, but they are mostly annoying for the user. I've even had a couple of cases where they actually refused to accept payment (not for HDSentinel) and I just gave up.

I don't know how easy or convenient/profitable this might be, but I'd wish for every software developer to have their own paying/license system on their own website, without relying on external "partners" or whatever.

Thanks so much for your kind words and support, really appreciated!!

Generally these resellers (more precesiely MoR - Merchant Of Record companies) should be good for both everybody - if things work as expected.

1) if you may consider to order a software, digital product or so, these partners can help as they may offer easy way to provide details for invoice, offer many ways to process payment, have good communication with banks (for credit card validation) and so.
Also they keep track of the license codes, so they can help to recover a possible lost license code too.
In addition, in the rare case when a software / digital product may not work, the developer may not able to help, they can provide support too and (in worst case) they can reverse the order by re-funding the amount paid.
So generally these resellers can help customers - as they work "between" the customer and developer.

2) if developers (like me) offer software / digital products, they can help by processing invoices and VAT/TAX questions. This is not an easy thing as generally all invoices should contain different amount of VAT/TAX based on the country of the customer - so these companies create proper TAX invoices, collect tax from all orders and then transfer to the tax authorities of the proper countries and so.

This is not a bad thing and sometimes would be very hard (or even impossible) to make things without them - this is why even much bigger companies like Adobe works with similar partners.

Thanks for the extremely detailed answer. Yes, I suspected it might not be as simple as I'd hoped to avoid them, unfortunately.

It shouldn't be impossible though! But that's a decision for the developer.
