Gmail now requiring OAuth

I don't recall Google notifying me about SMTP authentication going away, but whatever. Other than through another email provider, is there a way (or a plan?) to allows HDS to send emails using Gmail?

I do not know if OAuth would be required.

which describes the way to configure Hard Disk Sentinel to send e-mail alerts with Gmail.
If you have an app password, then the e-mail sending works perfectly. Just verified, without problems.

You're right. I had temporarily disabled 2-step verification on my Gmail account and, apparently, that deletes all your existing 3rd party passwords. Once I turned 2-step back on and created a new 3rd party password, it went back to working just fine. Sorry for the false alarm.
