increase in the Seek Time Performance and Throughput Performance parameters

Post by prokoks »

So in the wd161kryz 16TB disk the Throughput Performance / Seek Time Performance parameter increased
So I used the disk without a problem, I filled it up to 10TB, then I decided to stop, I formatted it and with another program I read the entire disk, it did not show any damaged sectors
Then I wrote to the entire disk with some pattern in hard disk sentinel and a quick test, they did not detect any errors, after which after a day I saw an increase in this parameter
The disk has 40 days of power supply, I am sending here smart photos and I do not know if I should worry?
I want to make a backup copy of my data on this disk.

sorry for the English language, I am using a translator

No need to worry, this is completely normal.

The change of the attributes is normal, similarly as the temperature and other values ma change.
Alone these do not indicate any problem or so. The Health % and the text description in Hard Disk Sentinel designed exactly to report any problem - without the need of checking the numbers one-by-one.

Of course I can confirm that if there would be any error, Hard Disk Sentinel would surely
- report in the text description
- show the degradation health value
- it would be detected by Disk -> Short self test or Disk -> Extended self test
- the Disk -> Surface test -> Read test could not be completed without problems

I always recommend proper testing:

https://www.hdsentinel.com/faq.php#tests
Hard disk health is low or recently changed or I just installed a new (used) hard disk. How can I perform a deep analysis?

as the combination of these tests (hardware self tests, surface tests) can confirm FOR SURE that a drive itself is working correctly - or reveal any (even minor) issue (eg. retry on a sector, slower area etc.) which may be ignored by other tools / test methods.
