Hi,
right now I'm running a damaged HDD to the ground to get it RMA'd without questions - I noticed the log tab does use 16 bit numbers for reported values. After 65184 reallocated sectors it went down to just 40, while the raw value now reads 0x10028 and the data tab correctly uses a larger number format when in decimal mode.
Guess the log just needs a bigger int as well, 32 bit might do.
Thanks!

Re: Log value overflow (16 bit numbers)
Thanks for your attention!
Yes, it is designed to use the lowest 16 bit here. There are no overflow or so.
Can you please use Report menu -> Send test report to developer option? Would be nice to see the status of the drive and know its model / firmware version.
According the experiences, drives usually have much less sectors on the spare area, so only the lowest 16 bit used to reflect the amount of reallocated sectors.
Probably you see the lower value in the text description too, the Log page reflected similar exactly to prevent confusion.
Would be nice to see if a model can have higher number of such spare sectors (and thus reallocated sectors) as then this can be changed of course.
Thanks!

Report sent this morning - which "text description" do you mean? Both Overview and SMART tab show correct values.
