Extremely slow external disk surface test (39 MB / s)

Hi, I'm a new HD Sentinel user.

I bought a new 6GB HDD to connect via usb c 3.1.
When I started the quick tests the HDD was noisy but it stopped shortly after.
Then I started the test on the surface for write / read but, due to problems with the mains that forced me to restart the test a couple of times, I postponed to proceed to connect the disk to the UPS.

Restarted the test with the disk connected to the UPS to my surprise I observed a speed of execution of the write test of 39 mb / s, with an estimate for completion of 89 hours!
The previous day I observed speeds of 150mb / s and an estimate of the time it would take to complete the test of 16 hours.

Why this difference?

This suggests that only USB 2.0 speed used by the drive.
Not sure, but there may be a problem with connection and/or USB cable which caused that the disk drive works at slower speed.
I'd try to disconnect and reconnect - as yes, the speed should be much faster.

If you use Report menu -> Send test report to developer option, it is possible to check the actual situation and advise.

I changed the enclosure (same model) and now the speed is 196MB / s
