Maximum Temperature (During Entire Lifespan) support inquiry

We are generating a SAS drive test process for a customer and their qualification criteria includes a lifetime temperature limit value.
We want to use the "Maximum Temperature (During Entire Lifespan)" in Hard Disk Sentinel but there is some question about how this value is obtained from the drive.
Our engineering consult could not access the lifetime max temp via the LOG SENSE command, and he subsequently monitored Hard Disk Sentinel commands to validate how this max temp value was obtained but could not make any determination.
Can you provide any detail on how the "Maximum Temperature (During Entire Lifespan)" is obtained that will give us confidence that the value reported by the Hard Disk Sentinel is indeed valid/accurate?
