Hard Disk Monitoring

Hello, from yesterday to today this error appeared to me. I wonder if there is any way to fix it or I have to change the disk. I'm afraid no, the hard disk can't be repaired. It is recommended to backup and replace the hard disk drive as soon as possible.

This attribute indicates problems with seeking to specific disk sectors: the heads could only move harder, possible due to mechanical damage.
If the drive seems working, then you're lucky - as it is possible that it would not able to access disk sectors for reading/writing and generally (while the sectors are not damaged/bad) it may fail completely any time.

In this situation, you may ask for warranty replacement (if the hard disk still has warranty) because the hard disk is considered "bad". For a such hard disk, new operating system installations may not be possible at all and it is possible that the computer even displays a warning notification before starting the operating system, indicating that hard disk drive failure may occur soon.

Hello, strangely enough my disk is in 100% health again. I think it might be a conflict between Webroot and Wisevector antivirus, since all I did was uninstall Webroot. Attached are screenshots and the report. I find this a bit curious.

Yes, if the value normalized (so the error level threshold is no longer reached) then the disk drive seems correctly working again and the health also improves. This may happen.

Such situations are usually not related to any software. Just the drive can sometimes work better (can seek properly to data sectors) but sometimes can't. May be related to cables, connections or even power source (the power supply) as it is possible that a fluctuating voltage may triggered that the drive could not work previously as expected.

Personally I'd (after a backup just to be safe) perform intensive testing as described at
https://www.hdsentinel.com/faq.php#tests
exactly to reveal the problems - or confirm if the disk drive is working correctly.

Hello . I ran the tests and they came back fine. Attached are screenshots.

Maybe this error is from the BIOS? because when the program told me that the disk was in bad shape, I restarted it and a message came up that I had to remove the disk because it was in bad shape. Then I checked the BIOS and disabled that option and then, when the disc marked good health again, I enabled that ASUS function again.
