Can sentinel rebuild MFT cause mine just got erased

No, Hard Disk Sentinel is designed to detect hard disk issues, fix low level errors and backup files but I'm afraid it can't restore erased/corrupted MFT.

But it does detect both HDD and SSD, right?

Yes of course: all hard disks and SSDs are detected and their complete status is displayed.
