Sorry if this is the wrong board to post this issue, I'm new to this forum.
My brother email me with a problem with HD Sentinel flagging unable to initializing mci.
He send me the following screenshot;
Is it to do with Windows 10 1809 or with HD Sentinel?
Any help solving this issue would be most appreciated.

Re: HD Sentinel Test Sound Alert flags MCI error
Hi,
The sound file may be damaged/corrupted - or there may be a codec issue on the system which prevents playing the file.
Please try with the provided HDNotify.wav (or HDsirena.mp3) which installed by Hard Disk Sentinel, located in the folder of the software (C:\Program Files (x86)\Hard Disk Sentinel).
Also you may try to send the sound file to info (at) hdsentinel (dot) com, so then it is possible to check, verify and try to reproduce.
For this, please also use Report menu -> Send test report to developer option, that would help to check the actual situation.

Re: HD Sentinel Test Sound Alert flags MCI error
The issue with the MCI error seems to have solved itself out.
My brother followed your instruction to go to the HDNotify.wav and payed it from there he then closed HD Sentinel and restarted it and the Test Sound Alert played every time without any errors.
Thanks for your help.
