WD1001 FALS not recognized
anyone has successfully managed a WD Caviar 1000GB type 10001FALS? HD Sentinel provides only few information, and cannot control the Acoustic level!

Re: WD1001 FALS not recognized
Please use Report menu -> Send test report to developer option, as then it is possible to check the actual situation and advise.
In general, if partial information displayed, this is usually NOT related to Hard Disk Sentinel (not a bug/limitation of the software) and NOT related to the hard disk: the disk controller (where the hard disk connected) or its driver may block/prevent accessing complete status information. This may happen with some chipsets/drivers and/or with some external disk enclosures/docking stations.
Generally this may cause that some special commands (like the acoustic management function) can't be used - if supported by the hard disk drive (otherwise the option is not available, greyed out in the Disk menu of Hard Disk Sentinel, but this means that there is a limitation of the drive, not the software).
From the developer report, I can see the actual situation, the current disk controller / driver and can advise about possible change, update, for example by installing the proper driver from the Support -> Driver Zone page ( https://www.hdsentinel.com/driverzone.php ) designed exactly for such situations.
