Hard Disk Monitoring

I am evaluating Hard Disk Sentinel 3.70, among others. I am trying to decide which HDD software to get. I have been using it one day now, and I like what I have seen so far. But one thing that really annoys me is the little status bars that show free disk space in Windows Explorer when you click the Computer folder, right above the disk drive icons. Is there a way to disable this?

While this is indeed a very neat feature to have if you are a Windows XP user, it is certainly unnecessary for Windows Vista or Windows 7 users because they have the same type of feature built-in already. So it's making my disk drive view look cluttered, and I have a lot of disk drive volumes.

So... is there any chance that I will be able to disable this feature? As far as I can see, there is no option for this in the Configuration window.

Please open Configuration -> Disk Control and you can disable it by un-checking the first option "Modify default hard disk icons in Windows Explorer".

Wow! Thanks! I'm not sure how I could have missed that. But I guess I expected it to be within the "integration" group which is exactly what this is. That was the first place I checked, but it wasn't there.

By the way, what are those little green check marks?... what do they represent?

The green / yellow / red marks on the icons represent the health of the hard disk associated with the corresponding drive letters.
If you see only green check marks, it means that the health level is high on all your disks which is excellent
