[Solved]Incorrect TBW calculation

Sziasztok!

I recently got a Micron 1100 SSD. After installing HDSentinel I noticed it reports a TBW value of 10095 TB. It was a bit surprising given the drive had 5 hours of power on time when I checked this. In the SMART details the SSD reports the Total LBA Written attribute (attr# 241). I'm guessing HDS use this value to calculate the TBW but it uses a wrong formula/parameters.

I used this website: http://www.virten.net/2016/12/ssd-total ... calculator and converted my LBA reading from HDS and used 512 bytes as a sector size. Now I get around 160 GB as TBW which seems correct, also did a 1,5 GB copy to the SSD and the calculated value grew with that amount.

Do I need to send additional logs? Is this a fixable bug? Thank you in advance!

Regards,
Zsolti

Szia !

Not sure which version do you use, but I suspect not the latest possible.
Please check with 5.01.14 version:

https://www.hdsentinel.com/beta5/hdsent ... 4-nmdf.zip

as it has improved support for this (and many other) SSDs.
The older version may not know this particular model.

I suggest to please use Report menu -> Send test report to developer option, as this would confirm things.
In such situations, the best is to
- please use Report menu -> Send test report to developer option
- write some data to the SSD (for example 5-10 GB) and then wait some minutes as then Hard Disk Sentinel surely updates the values
- please use Report menu -> Send test report to developer option again

This way it is possible to check the counters, their change and modify calculation if required.

Szia!

Yes I used the 5.01 but with the latest beta it indeed shows the correct TBW value! Thank you very much for the support!
