WMI multiple instances of HD Sentinel

Hi,

I like WMI feature for remote monitoring.
Right now if I start first instance it publish WMI classes. When second (on another or same account) is launched and closed, during closure it deletes classes in WMI and first running instance is not providing data to WMI.

Is it possible to fix that - at least one running instance should publish to WMI?

Thanks for your message and thanks for selecting Hard Disk Sentinel.

Excuse me, I do not really understand the situation.

May I ask what do you mean first and second instance?
Hard Disk Sentinel can run in one instance only and if the WMI option enabled, yes, the WMI information is available (now extending to include more details).
And if Hard Disk Sentinel closed completely, then of course there is no WMI information avaialable.

Can you please explain the situation with more details, how did you try to use?

For example if you have multiple user accounts on 1 PC.

User1 can run HDSentinel, User2 can run HDSentinel - as result both are running one 1 PC.

HDSentinel single instance check is enforced only on same account.

If User2 close HDSentinel User1 cannot use WMI.

If both user1 and user2 has proper rights, both can run Hard Disk Sentinel - but only one instance can be active at any given time.

So if user2 closes Hard Disk Sentinel (and the software is not active, not started by user1), then it does not detect status, does not provide the information by WMI.

Generally, when the software installed and used in default application mode then yes, it runs in the context of the current user (who requires administrator access).

If you prefer to run independently from the actual user, in the context of the SYSTEM account, you may consider the Service mode.
Then Hard Disk Sentinel will run as an NT service, can perform alerts, provides the WMI data regardless of the actual user.

See further information and details about the service mode in the Help: http://www.hdsentinel.com/help/en/330_c ... ation.html
