Hdd Sentine - Health 0%

Hello, guys! One mouth ago i bough a new HDD. I checked it's health status with HDD sentinel and it was 100%.
Today the health status decreased to 0% from almost 90%, even though it has not suffered any physical shock!
I've tried to reinstall the windows , but the situation has not changed.

Before i reinstalled the os, i ran some disk checking, when the health status was about 60%, and after finishing the disk checking was done , the health decrease to 30%.
So i got stuck. I question myself if the HDD really has problems, or it's about some software wrong data/information.

If anyone has any idea, please post on the forum.

Thanks in advance.

Generally problems may remain hidden for long time (even months or years) on a new hard disk, until the head reads/writes the appropriate sectors. Then as problems detected, the status of the hard disk may decrease - or even drop quickly. This may not need any mechanical shock
Such (relative common) situation is described at http://www.hdsentinel.com/hard_disk_cas ... ectors.php

Re-installation never repairs problem. It creates a new partition and format it, so then any damaged sectors will be re-used by the system, which may result in data corruption or data loss.

Not sure what kind of disk checking you did, but the best ways to diagnose hard disks to reveal and repair problems are described here:
http://www.hdsentinel.com/faq.php#tests

These are the most sensitive methods to show the actual problems, show how many sectors (and where on the disk) affected, are there any damaged sectors, retries, slower areas and so. These factors (and the self-monitoring status, temperature, possible degradations, changes) are usually completely ignored by other ways, for example chkdsk - which is not really recommended when the hard disk status is not perfect (and not stable: when the health increase / decrease, depending on the operation).

So personally I'd perform the tests as suggested at http://www.hdsentinel.com/faq.php#tests
regardless of the actual health, to determine the problems and check if the drive is stable (so can still be used).

Also in addition to the health, Hard Disk Sentinel in the text description clearly shows the different problems detected with the hard disk drive.
I'd suggest to check the Support -> Knowledge Base section and the sub-pages ( http://www.hdsentinel.com/download.php ) to get more information about possible reported issues. Some of them may be temporary and can be fixed - and some may even related to the current operating environment (for example cables, connections, power supply and so). These may affect the operation and even the health of the hard disk.

And you can any time use Report menu -> Send test report to developer option. Then it is possible to check the actual situation and advise about the best ways to diagnose and repair (if possible) the status.
