I love HD Sentinel and have been using it for years. I understand it's a more technical product geared towards pros and enthusiasts but I was wondering if we will ever see an update to the interface?

Yes, I agree it may be not as "modern", but yes, the most important is to add support for devices (hard disks, SSDs, RAID controllers) and also add functions, improve compatibility and features.
Also I wanted to maintain compatibility with older systems and OSes (even older Windows OSes like Windows NT4, 2000, 98, ME) as some users still use them (even in companies). A complete re-design or modernized UI may require special Windows features available only in newer Windows, so for a modern GUI we may lose compatibility with older systems.
Anyway I'm constantly thinking on it and would love to hear actual, real ideas - to design it good and useful (instead of copying design from a different software).
For example as I wrote at
viewtopic.php?f=9&t=10136&p=13480
I'm waiting for any real ideas, thoughts, recommendations

I sure hope not, if any of the other modern software suites are anything to go by. Avast, comodo and Zone Alarm before it and countless others have ended up with simplistic, babyish interfaces that hide important settings behind a hundred useless facades.

Yes, to be honest, I also do not really like such big modifications, which makes nice, but not to useful (in my opinion) user interface as it hides all options / functions we used (and could quickly access).
I'm thinking lots and collecting ideas before making any (even minimal) changes
