If you changed the Offset value and then cleared the error counter, then you already fixed the hard disk with Hard Disk Sentinel.
You may noticed that the health increased and the errors removed from the text description.
This way you can be sure that only new problems will be reported by Hard Disk Sentinel.

The hard disk detects and counts the problems in its lifetime, even if such problems may be related to the current operating environment, for example caused by an improper data/power cable, connection, power supply or so.

When that problem fixed by the user (for example the cable replaced), the hard disk does not "know" this - but as these errors are no longer need to be displayed, with Hard Disk Sentinel you can acknowledge the situation: by clearing the error counter, you can be sure that the problems related to the previous (bad) operating environment will be no longer displayed and only possible new problems are reported.

This clearing is related to the current Hard Disk Sentinel installation, as designed to YOU, as you know what happened, fixed the issue and with the tests in Hard Disk Sentinel (see http://www.hdsentinel.com/faq.php#tests and http://www.hdsentinel.com/faq_repair_ha ... _drive.php )
you verified that the hard disk is now stable, there are no new problems. These should be done first, before using the offsets, exactly to verify the operation of the hard disk drive.

Later, if you check the hard disk with Hard Disk Sentinel DOS version or with an other installation of Hard Disk Sentinel (in an other computer) where the offsets are not configured, then the original status will be detected and displayed. This is completely normal.

What you can't do: you can't hide problems completely, can't show an almost dead hard disk as new, for example can't sell a failing drive as perfect.
