Hello! I have a WinXP system with 2 Marvell 7042 SATA Controller, the HDSentinel can read SMART info correctly for each HDDs, but can't read serial number and model name correctly for most HDDs, just the first HDD connect to each 7042 chip can display correctly. In the other machine with Marvell 6145 chip has no this problem, I'm confused, so can HDSentinel fully support for Marvell 7042 chip like 6145? Is it possible to improve in the next version of it?
Thanks a lot.

The success of detection may depend on the current drivers installed for the controllers.
If there is a newer driver available for the 7042, upgrading may result in better detection.

Can you please use Report menu Send test report to developer option?
That always help in verifying hardware compatibility issues as because from that report I can check the currently detected information, driver version and can check if things can be improved and/or may suggest different driver version.

Thank you for your quick response!

I just send a test report to you via HDSentinel program, can you please help me to check my hardware compatibility, many thanks!

BTW, I use the 7042 driver version 3.6.3.3, it's the only version and the hignest version that I can find on internet, do you have any idea to get the higher version for Marvell 7042 chip?

ps. HDSentinel is a good software, but I need to evaluate first and I will purchase license after some problems solved. Thanks.
