Hi
I have just swapped a couple of disk cables between two drives of the same model and capacity, and the disk numbering has changed. I'm pretty sure that the disk info e.g. health and error logs etc. has followed the actual disks as described by the logical drive info rather than the disk number.
Can this be confirmed?
Disk numbers changed - does it affect reports?

Yes, I can confirm: the drives are identified by their actual model ID, firmware version and serial number, not their position / drive numbers.
Sometimes even updating the motherboard chipset driver can cause that drive positions swapped in Windows. Hard Disk Sentinel follows the new order - and it does not affect the collected and reported statistics, logs, details of the hard disk drives.
