PCI-E SATA controller support
PCI-E SATA controller support
Hello! I have the STLab A-400 controller with 2 HDD's conneted. Both are WD10EACS. Can't see SMART information in HD Sentinel. Is it a problem with controller or HD Sentinel just do not support A-400? Thanks!

Re: PCI-E SATA controller support
Please use the "Report" menu "Send test report to developer" option. This way I can examine what information can be detected and what information provided by the controller.W(R6)X wrote:Hello! If you experience problems with the detection, please check: http://www.hdsentinel.com/faq.php#q11
It is possible that the driver of the controller may not provide full access to all disks. Upgrading to a newer version may help (if possible).
Please also try the DOS version ( http://www.hdsentinel.com/hdsdos.php ). Under DOS, no problematic drivers loaded so you can check if the drive(s) provide information.

Re: PCI-E SATA controller support
Thanks, I received the report.
As I see, that card is using Silicon Image controller chip.
These chips has some problems under Windows - these may prevent the detection of all information about the disks.
Please check the DOS version by using a bootable disk, so you can check if the detection works without Windows.
