This night HD Sentinel V3.70 tired to install Version 4.00 without my intervention ony my Win 7 machine. The upgrade stalled (see screenshot). There was 1 more box saying some file could not be written - sorry no screenshot of this!
I downloaded V4.00 manually and installed it manually. This worked fine.

Re: Version 4.00 did not install automatically
Excuse me for troubles with the automatic update.
I'm almost sure the issue may be related to the excessive amount of network traffic reported on the server where the updated files are stored and this may caused some pause (or even stop) during the automatic update.
The installer of the new version is stored on a different server, this is why it could be downloaded and installed manually.
Excuse me again for the issue!

It could be a glitch. Same thing happened to me so I installed it manually as well. I think it is just normal. I usually get such problems on other software.
