How to restore to H.D.S. last month's history

Post by alan-0000 »

Months ago I used Configuration / Advanced Options / Change folder to store statistics and settings,
and chose to use D:\HDSentinel\Stats

Can I simply restore a very recent backup of those files, or do I need to restore the entire C:\ with its registry ?

Last night Windows booted wrongly and Drive D:\ was not the drive it used to be, and \HDSentinel\Stats was under some other letter,
so HDS 4.00.17 PRO became unregistered.
Eventually I Restored a backup configuration and that registered it and some history is retained.

Disk Performance remembers that it has been monitoring all 3 disks since installation on 23/05/2012
but "Total Data Read/Write" shows much smaller values than before the incident,
and for each of the 3 Disks the Smart Data shows data points from 23/05/2012 through to 06/07/2012,
after which there is a large gap until 23/08/2012.

Yes, you can simply restore the complete folder in this situation: if "Configuration / Advanced Options / Change folder to store statistics and settings" is used, Hard Disk Sentinel does not use the registry and saves all information to the specific folder.

So you can simply restore the previous contents of the folder (if saved previously).

I'm afraid it is not possible to "mix" the statistics to get one month data from a previous backup and insert it to the current database.
