Dear all,
Not sure why my JMicron JMB36X only give details of one HDD but not the other.
This chipset is from my MB MSI P55-GD80; 2port. I set it as normal; no raid/JBOD.
I have tried installing the driver from HDSetinel but still no luck.

Re: JMicron JMB36X only show one disk info instead of two
Please use Report -> Send test report to developer option? This way it is possible to check the situation, the "raw" information detected and this may help.
Can you please tell me the model and capacity of the missing drive? Is it a Samsung one?

I see. Once similar issue encountered with Samsung drive, this is why I suspected it is the same situation.
The developer report (Report -> Send test report to developer) may help to get the missing information.

Re: JMicron JMB36X only show one disk info instead of two
It is already available in version 4.00, the problem was related only an older version.
Thanks for the report. It seems the driver is not really the one available in the Driver Zone
It seems the controller provides the status of the same one hard disk for both ports. In this case HDSentinel filters out the duplicated result to prevent it displayed twice incorrectly.
Do you use any eSATA enclosures, converters or something similar? Or the drives are simply directly connected to the JMicron ports?
If the Intel controller works differently, you may consider connecting the hard disk to that (maybe exchange with an optical drive).

Sometimes different (even newer) drivers do not work as should
Please try to update Hard Disk Sentinel to version 4.00 (by using automatic update from File menu). It may help immediately.
If things are the same, please try the following:
1) close HDSentinel (if running)
2) please click on Start -> Search in Windows 7 and enter CMD.EXE
then right click on the displayed CMD.EXE and select "Run as administrator".
3) Navigate to the folder of the software by entering
CD "\Program Files (x86)\Hard Disk Sentinel"
and then enter
HDSentinel.exe /REPORT /ENABLETEST /RAID
this should start the software but also save a
HDSentinel_4.000 PRO_report.txt , a testmode.txt and RAID.TXT file to the folder of the software.
Please send me those files in e-mail as they dump all response between the communication
of the hard disks and the software. These files may help to check what the JMB36X controller respond
when the first hard disk is accessed.
Ps. I sent this in e-mail also in response to your report.
