Zzz activity systray icon?

Post by MrRik »

Hi again,

I wonder why sometimes an activity icon change in a zzz icon, even when the drive is in action!!
On the screendump I eg making a backup with read transfer rate of 98MB/sec, while the icon is showing zzz instead of bars?
This drive is an external USB3 drive! Is this the cause?

Hi,

The "zzz" icon is displayed when the device seems to be in "sleeping" power management state.
Please check the top of the "Information" tab: it shows that the device seems to be sleeping, according to the current power management status reported by the device.

Some devices (especially USB / USB 3.0 external hard disks) may provide incorrect power management states, this is why you may see this even on an active drive. Please use Report -> Send test report to developer option, so it will be possible to check the actual drive and the invalid power management information reported by the device. This may help to prevent this display for this particular hard disk.
