Warning symbol remains on the Re-enable Alerts button

Post by TonyCzar »

Even after a complete uninstall and a fresh install, the Re-enable Alerts button retains the Warning Symbol. How do I clear this? Thanks.

Sorry for the possible confusion.

Generally there is no need / no way to "clear" it as it does not indicate any error / alert / problem or so.

The Re-enable Alerts button always shows the yellow exclamation mark. It does NOT mean there is any problem/warning.
The purpose of that button is to "re-enable alerts", to allow an alert (if configured) to be re-sent.

By default, an alert (for example on high temperature) issued only once every day for a specific drive.
Imagine this situation: you configure temperature threshold to 50 Celsius and the temperature goes up-down from 49 to 51 and vice versa.
Hard Disk Sentinel sends an alert ONCE (not for every event when 50 reached)to prevent too many alerts.

By this "re-enable alerts" button, you can "reset" (re-enable) the daily alerts sent, so the alert will be issued again.

If you do not configure alerts (Configuration -> Alerts page) then this button seems not making anything - which is normal.

Thanks. I fully understand.

If I wanted to change the sound of the alarm to music in an mp3 file, is that possible/

Please use Configuration -> Alerts -> Select Sound File where it is possible to select the sound alert file.

The folder of Hard Disk Sentinel contains two sound files in different formats (HDnotify.wav and HDsirena.mp3) and you can select/use any other MP3 file (I'd recommend to use a short file).
