Some weak sectors appeared on my wd 2 and 4 tb my passport models and I came to know this re-initialize disk surface test can stabilize the disk,so used it,it came out to be ok as all weak sectors were repaired and my hdd health got up to full, but one thing I can't understand why at the very end of the disk very dark green blocks appeared and speed was extremely slow during checking of these blocks( some KBs) as far as I remember
I came to know that darker green colours are indicative that these blocks were harder to process that's why these colours and nothing to worry, but as I value my data I would appreciate if anyone with in depth knowledge can closely look into my test result images and enlighten me

Re: Re-initialize disk surface test shows different colours
Please refer to the same situation: https://www.hdsentinel.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=20838
Yes, I can confirm that this is possible, and normal for similar drives.
Generally SMR drives may show such behaviour: during the Reinitialise Disk Surface test, they may show
- darker green blocks at the end of the disk surface area
- darker green blocks at random locations or sometimes in a repeating pattern
This does not mean problem with the hard disk itself or the software/test, just it means that the disk drive processes write commands slightly differently than traditional CMR drives.
If you check:
https://www.hdsentinel.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=20809
this forum topic shows similar with different type of WD hard disk.
The important is that the Health should be 100% (no problems reported) and all 10000 blocks are GOOD on the right side of the disk surface test window: there are no damaged (yellow) or bad (red) blocks.
And as always suggested, if you use Report menu -> Send test report to developer option, it is possible to check the status of the drive and verify if there may be any issue.
