Only Hard Disk Sentinel reports bad sectors.
Only Hard Disk Sentinel reports bad sectors.
HD Sentinel shows 40% health caused by 60 bad sectors (so it says). Data moved OK by HD Sentinel. No option to repair. No other HDD surface tests show any bad sectors. I've run several. Removed and reinstalled HD Sentinel, but no change. Does my HDD really HAVE any bad sectors?

To be short, YES, it has.
The bad sectors are no longer used, instead a spare area is used for all further reads/writes.
So yes, it is "normal" and expected that (ideally) nothing else shows these and you may feel your drive is "perfect".
No need to open a new topic, this explained many-many times already with different steps about how to verify/confirm - and if the status is stable, how to acknowledge these bad sectors (ignore them) and restore the Health to be notified about possible new issues only.
