During installation of Hard Disk Sentinel, I recieved the message "
"An error occured while trying to replace the existing file"
The Access Denied in the error message made me wonder whether I would need to be logged in as an administrator. I logged in as an administrator but I still got the error. I have a screenshot of the message but I don't know how to upload it. I click the img tab at the top of this page and I see that it insert the [img]. How do I get it to give me the opportunity to find the image and upload it?

TIA for your help.

Re: An error occured while trying to replace the existing fi
Generally if you install the newer version of the software, all previous (existing) files need to be replaced. If the software was running (eg. a disk test was running) then some file(s) could not be updated as they are in use - so then it is completely normal and expected that there may be an "access violation" error (as it is not possible to replace the file which is currently in use).
The installer automatically attempts to close the currently running version before updating the files, but to be sure, if you install the newer version, I always recommend to completely close the currently running version first by File -> Exit.
