I cannot send email status reports using Gmail
I cannot send email status reports using Gmail
I cannot have email notifications to be sent by HDS using Gmail. I don't know if this is a temporary problem with Gmail or is a new permanent development. According to my Gmail account settings two other apps have been granted access to my data, but HDS is not one of them.

Re: I cannot send email status reports using Gmail
You will need to create an application password: if you open Gmail control panel and the 2-factor authentication is enabled, you can create an application password.
This is a password generated by Google, contains 16 characters. This should be configured in Hard Disk Sentinel (instead of the Gmail account password) in order to send the e-mail alerts.
All other settings are 100% same as previously, so please configure on Configuration -> E-mail Configuration page:
Sender name: your name (or anything which can help to identify the actual computer)
Sender e-mail: youraddress@gmail.com
SMTP server: smtp.gmail.com
Recipient e-mail: youraddress@gmail.com (where the e-mail alert should arrive)
Port: 587
Username: youraddress@gmail.com
Password: the above mentioned application password (16 characters long, created by Google)
Enable Use SSL and Use TLS (STARTTLS) options.

Re: I cannot send email status reports using Gmail
Thank you. I followed the steps and did it.
If I understand correctly I have to keep the two step authentication activated in order for the App password to be effective.
