Does anybody know if the Windows 7 desktop gadget is still supported, and how to make it work in the latest portable HDS version?
My gadget says HDS version 4.20 ©2013 and when I add it to the desktop it says "Hard Disk Sentinel is not running or sidebar support is disabled", while HDS is running and the "Enable Gadget" checkbox is checked in Configuration - Status Window.

Generally the gadget should still work latest with Hard Disk Sentinel Pro - but generally it designed to work with the installed version.
What happens if you try with the latest installed version?
Or alternatively, you may try a different solution: the Remote-PC status gadget

You can configure localhost ( 127.0.0.1 ) to be monitored to display details of the local system.
