hello
i have a problem, coz my HDD on laptop is making wierd sounds... like i hear ball bearings scratching now and then, but it does NOT stop my cursor or what im doing...
i installed HD sentinel, both bars are at 100%, and no spin ups, no errors...
power on time 2055 days, estimated time, more than 100 days...
should i worry?
NO ERROR / problems?

Re: NO ERROR / problems?
If your drive has a such high power on time value (more than 5 years in 24/7 mode), then you may consider replacement EVEN IF the drive seems to be working correctly. The drive is stable, healthy and may still work for some time but after that, it can be failed suddenly, without visible signs (for example, it is possible that it will not power up / spin up suddenly due to a stuck bearing).
You may use several tests in Hard Disk Sentinel to verify if the disk surface, heads and components in general are working correctly:
http://www.hdsentinel.com/faq.php#tests
However, if there is a problem with the motor/bearing, it may remain undetectable until some power cycles (when the drive measures spin up time / verify spin retry count). If you can use Report menu Send test report to developer option, I can check the complete disk status and may advise.
That's why the health seems to be fine, but the "estimated remaining lifetime" is not so high.
