Win10 - HDS Version 5.2 surface tests not working

I had HDS v 4.6 on my machine at work yesterday morning and could do surface write tests with no issue.
I finally got around to using my license for 5.20 PRO on here and updated, registered and activated - that's great, but I can no longer run surface write tests, I get error

"Unable to lock the disk for exclusive use.
Disk: D:\ Error: 5 Access is denied"

If I turn off the option to lock drive before the test starts, the test runs and performs normally.
Is there a way I can make the test run with the default lock drive option on Windows 10?

Thanks, but this is not really related to HDS or the new version: something is using the actual disk drive.

Which test did you attempt? A "Write" type test? It requires exclusive locking of the disk drive: the disk drive needs to be unmounted to prevent other software (OS itself and other applications) using that.
If any software, file or folder open, this is not possible, then only the Disk menu -> Surface test -> Read test or the Disk Repair test can be used.
But this is same for all versions.

Please check which files/folders could be opened. It may be tricky, as sometimes background activity of Windows or other software (like antivirus scanner or so) can cause that some files/folders in use and this may prevent the locking.

As always, if you use Report menu -> Send test report to developer option, I can check the actual situation, verify the disk model and its partition type(s) as this may give some thoughts.

In worst case, the older version can be installed back (older versions are available on the bottom of the Downloads page) but generally new versions always have improvements in this area, so hard to imagine the opposite.
If you can surely start the same test in 4.60, then please check also 4.71 and 5.01 version too (plus I can provide other versions "between" them) so we can track down which version worked differently and what change may happened there, so then it would be possible to examine, reproduce the behaviour - and improve further in all possible ways.

OK, after a little delay I've done more testing.
The highest version this works in is 4.71, but fails on 5.01
So if you know what changed in between please feel free to provide any sub-version revisions for me to test.

I've sent a diagnostic reports for 5.2, 5.01, and 4.71.
4.71 works, the others don't work. All tests were done within a few minutes of each other.

I did extensive testing and while generally there should be no problems with write tests, yes, I found some removable pendrives/memory cards where the write testing did not work when the "lock drive" option enabled.
As I could reproduce the issue, I made an updated version where things should be better.

I sent e-mail and details with this updated version, please check when you'll have some time.
