Language Problem? HDS interface is a garbled mess

Post by snormy »

Hi

I got HDS 4.71 from this deal here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/289693

I installed it and selected English language but for whatever the reason the language doesn't seem to be in English at all and there are odd symbols in places. If there is a way to navigate in menu settings to change to English or any other suggestions really that would be of great help.

Thanks for your message.

Excuse me for the troubles, but I can confirm there is absolutely no problem - and there is no "garbled mess" there.

When you start the installation, the installer asks for the language used during installation. This has no effect on the language of the software - which automatically detects the language based on the current Windows installation, language and regional settings. According the image, non-English language selected in this case.

In the topmost menu, please select the 2nd option from the right "Yé(C)" which is the Configuration menu and in the drop down list the 2nd option to open the Preferences window where the language can be modified.

In the middle, there is a box with the list of available languages: there it is possible to select English language.

Sorry for the troubles, if you use Report menu -> Send test report to developer option, it is possible to check what exactly in current Windows installation caused the automatic selection of the language.

I actually suspected it might be that problem. I moved my PC around from place to place over the years. Thanks, the solution worked perfectly and was exactly what I was looking for! Case solved! :D
