Seems like SSL command is not compatible with live.com nor gmail.com at Port: 587
Note, Port: 465 is working fine with gmail (ssl)
me thinks we need a working STARTTLS mode for those ISP who only offer this mode, and it will also be compatibel with gmail\live at port 587 which is using STARTTLS
please, can you implement STARTTLS? or modify the existing SSL mode to also work with STARTTLS servers?

I agree that when using port 465, things are fine but port 587 would require a different setup of the SSL connection (as you can see, the difference is not only the port number).
I'm making the required changes to work properly with port 587 also and if you agree, I'll provide a link to test version in e-mail soon so you can examine it with your mail settings.
