How to ignore drives?

Post by MikeMcr »

Is there a way to permanently ignore specific drives?

I know you can right-click the main interface and untick drives and also untick from Settings->Hard Disk Drives. However, even doing that they still show up in reports and e-mails.

I have card readers built into my monitor which HD Sentinel is showing as hard drives. It is pointless including those (they are empty and never used) so I just want some way of saying always ignore them.

Here is how they are described in the ini file:

Code: Select all

DrivesHidden=Generic Flash HS-CF*?*4.44\Generic Flash HS-COMBO*?*4.44

Currently, it is not really possible.

Yes, Hard Disk Sentinel automatically enumerates and shows all store-related devices (including hard disks, SSDs, pendrives, memory card readers and so) just like as they appear in Windows -> Disk Management.
Yes, currently it is possible to hide unwanted devices from the list of devices, but as you can see, the reports and e-mails still contain them.
Thanks for the suggestion, yes, it may be good idea to also hide them (when they're hidden from the interface) as this way the reports would be smaller and more compact, useful.

Hi,

I would also like to vote for this feature. It is nonsense seeing information in reports and alerts about disks like virtual drives that are not supposed to be scanned and enumerated at all.

Thank you!
