Hi all,
I need to change the APM values on a EZRX (Green) series WD drive, but the APM menu is disabled for this particular drive. Any reason in particular?
Thanks.

Re: Smart APM Disabled for WD30EZRX Series?
The reason is that the hard disk does not support APM function.
Please check on the Information page, you may notice: "Advanced Power Management = Not supported".
In this case the disk menu -> Advanced Power Management setting is disabled of course, as there is nothing to adjust.
If you prefer to prevent head load/unload and thus increase the lifetime of the hard disk, I'd recommend to please open Configuration -> Disk control and in the "Do not allow spin down of disks" field, specify a
*
This would cause a periodic command to be transferred to all hard disks, so then they will not enter to sleep mode, and they can't park the drive heads. So the effect is generally same as you'd configure the highest Advanced Power Management level setting (if that would be supported by the hard disk).
