I'm using four USB3 4TB hard drives with Window storage spaces in a parity array, this works well enough but the drives constantly spin down which is very annoying.
I'm hoping your app can prevent that, I bought and installed the pro version and in the settings set the spindown prevention to all via * but it doesn't seem to be stopping it. Trying to open files I get delays and can hear the USB HDD's spinning up.
It is because they are in storage spaces volume the spindown prevention ignores the volume, would it be possible to support it ?
Thank you.

Re: Prevent spindown
Thanks for your message and using registered version of Hard Disk Sentinel.
Yes, generally if you specify * in the Configuration -> Disk Control -> Do not allow spin down of disks field, then the hard disk should keep spinning, without spin down. However, recently found that some external high capacity (3 TB and above) USB drives may spin down as they require special attention - so I can confirm that things modified in latest version 4.60.3
So please try this version from:
http://www.hdsentinel.com/beta4/hdsenti ... -dssrw.zip
and verify if there is a difference.
Also I'd recommend to use Report menu -> Send test report to developer option with that version as it would help further development: if things are better, it will confirm the situation - but if the drives will still spin down, it will help to check the actual configuration and verify the possibilities.

Re: Prevent spindown
Thanks for the quick reply that new version did the trick and it's working great now.
I dont know what Seagate did but I had a reliable USB3 GoFlex drive from them with a 30 min idle spin down and decided to get Seagate's latest, after many hours of juggling data around various drives I managed to build the array on the new external drives and copy everything over, only to discover that the new drives idle within seconds of inactivity which was driving me crazy. Seagates own spindown tool wont even recognise the drives when in a storage spaces volume.
So your program is a life safer thanks for the quick fix.
