One of my hard drives is behaving erratically and I'm wondering if it needs to be replaced or if it is just a minor glitch with hd sentinel.
I have 2 x 3TB drives that are mirrored. Every time the array is in use (e.g. downloading), one of the hard drives jumps from 100% health to 9% health. It returns to 100% when I stop downloading or restart the pc.
This has never happened in 3+ years of use. Recently though, I had to change the power supply as my old one was not able to provide steady voltage to the 4th device on a line. What I mean by this is that if 4 fans were connected to 4 separate molex connectors on the same line, the 4th fan would rattle as it was not getting enough voltage. The drive in question was the 4th one on the line and refused to be detected until I placed it on a separate line of it's own.
I have since changed the power supply but I'm wondering if the drive itself is damaged or if there is some kind of read/access error with hd sentinel.

Re: Strange Behaviour
Not sure, but I suspect the disk controller (more precisely its current driver) may cause problems: sometimes when the status accessed, it may give incorrect information. Sometimes this causes big and temporary fluctuations in reported hard disk health value.
To investigate what happens, please use Report menu -> Send test report to developer option.
The best would be to do this two times: one when things are perfect and then an other when the lower health displayed.
This way it is possible to check the actual situation, compare the values and verify if the issue is related to the hard disk controller (driver), the drive itself or the current version of Hard Disk Sentinel.
Also I'd recommend to check the latest possible Hard Disk Sentinel version ( http://www.hdsentinel.com/beta4/hdsenti ... p45018.zip ) as new versions always have improvements and advanced filters against such troubles - so it is possible that the issue will be fixed immediately.
