Hi, I just bought a new drive, it was sold as new but power on time says 685 days 8 hours of use.
Did I get a refurbished or used disk or something?
Thanks for your time.

Re: Power on time on new drive.
Yes, it is possible (not rare).
I'd suggest to start Hard Disk Sentinel and verify how the power on time counter changes, increases with time.
For example, write down the current value and verify it after 3-4 hours of usage (no need intensive usage, just do not allow the hard disk to spin down, do not put the computer to sleep / standby / hibernation and do not power off it).
If the counter reflects the actual elapsed time, then we can say it's accurate and yes, the drive was used previously.
I'd recommend to use Report menu -> Send test report to developer option, before AND after this test, so then I can also verify the change of the reported power on time count. This would confirm the situation - or if the power on time does not increase as should, it would help to examine how this particular model works and reports the power on time.
