Hi,
I just did a 'Check for new version now' from version 4.40 and it started to install the new 4.50 release but part way thru it got blocked by my antivirus (Avast 9) with the following detection;
Infection Blocked
URL: http://www.hdsentinel.com/files/hdsentinel.sys
Infection: Win32:Evo-gen [Susp]
Maybe a false positive but thought best to report it just in case, I'll try downloading the installer to see if that works for me (4.40 is still working okay so don't think it messed up the current install).

Re: Virus alert during 4.50 update
Thanks for your message and sorry for the issue.
I'm absolutely sure it is a false alarm reported by your antivirus software.
Personally we verify our systems with 3 different anti-virus software and software catalogues confirmed that all versions of Hard Disk Sentinel is free from any form of worms/trojans/viruses/spyware/etc.
As displayed at http://www.hdsentinel.com/awards.php - there are different "safe to install", "clean" awards we received for the software.
Yes, in some rare cases, updates may trigger false alarms when some of the files change.
It is just very interesting that the mentioned file did not change since 2012 - so it is not updated in version 4.50
I checked and will soon contact AVAST team about the false positive. If possible, can you please also send the suspicious file to them directly for analysing.
I suspect if they receive the same files from different sources, they may fix the issue sooner and I'm sure after that, the next virus database update
will not have this false positive.
Thanks for the information again and sorry for the troubles.

Re: Virus alert during 4.50 update
With the updater Avast blocked the download so I don't have the file. I have manually downloaded both the Pro and Standard zip installers from the website and they worked fine without anything being detected so looks like an anomaly interacting with the updater. I'm only using the free Avast and it doesn't tell me much about the detection other then what I posted alas but I think it's safe to say the new version is clean.
Thanks for the quick response.

Thanks for your answer.
It's a bit weird - the installers also contain 100% same file - so I wonder how the updater handled differently ....
I contacted Avast team - and hopefully they'll improve the situation soon.
